UPDATED: Evidence Suggests Las Vegas Shooter Planned To Escape
(Las Vegas, NV) — New evidence suggests the Las Vegas shooter planned to escape after firing hundreds of bullets into a crowd of thousands of concert-goers. Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said yesterday that there is evidence that indicates 64-year-old Stephen Paddock planned to escape from police after carrying out the mass shooting on the Vegas strip. Lombardo did not provide any details on what that evidence is. He says there are also indications that Paddock had some kind of help. At least 59 people, including the shooter, died after Sunday night’s attack at a Las Vegas music festival, and nearly 500 others were injured. Police are still working to find a motive. Paddock’s girlfriend has returned to the U.S. from the Philippines and is set to be questioned by FBI this afternoon.

UPDATED: LV Police Revise Totals To 489 Injured, 58 Dead In Sunday’s Massacre
(Las Vegas, NV) — Las Vegas police now say 489 people were injured and 58 people were killed plus the suspect in Sunday’s shooting massacre. Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo provided the updated figures during a news briefing yesterday. Lombardo also released a revised timeline of events, saying the first shots were fired by the suspect at 10:05 p.m. and the last shots came ten minutes later as confirmed by a body-worn camera. More than 100 investigators are assigned to the case which is focused on determining why accused gunman Stephen Paddock carried out his deadly rampage.
The sheriff described Paddock as a disturbed and dangerous individual who spent decades acquiring weapons and living a secret life. Lombardo said investigators are still reviewing hotel video and interviewing people associated with the suspect in an effort to run down every possible lead. Lombardo also said he believes the gunman had to have help in assembling his arsenal at some point prior to the attack. An FBI spokesman said no link with terrorism has turned up at this point in the investigation. No suicide note was found in Paddock’s hotel room.

Shooter’s Girlfriend Claims She Knew Nothing Of Violence
(Los Angeles, CA) — The girlfriend of the suspected Las Vegas shooter says she had no idea that he was planning a massacre. A lawyer for Marilou Danley read a statement from her yesterday outside the federal building in Los Angeles. The statement said she’s been cooperating with authorities investigating the mass shooting that left at least 58 people dead and hundreds more hurt. Danley also noted that she went back to the Philippines about two weeks ago after shooter Stephen Paddock found a cheap plane ticket for her. He also wired her money so she could buy a house for her family. She said that she was worried the money and the trip home were his ways of breaking up with her.
