Mattoon police arrested Levi P. Diamond, age 56 of Mattoon, on Friday May 13th at 2:43 p.m. The arrest occurred at the MPD. Diamond was charged with Financial Exploitation of the Elderly. The charge alleges that Diamond is the fiduciary over a person with Alzheimer’s disease, and that he misappropriated several thousands of dollars on himself, including the purchase of a Cadillac, a Toyota Avalon, and a vacation to Hawaii. Diamond was taken to the Coles County jail.
