According to a press release from the Mattoon Police Department, Matthew E. Darling, age 38 of Mattoon, was arrested on June 16th at 6:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Edgar Avenue. He was charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery. The charge alleges that Darling battered and choked a female. Minor injuries were reported. Darling was taken to the Coles County jail.
