Jerry Esker, RPh, was named interim president and CEO of Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System, following the departure of Tim Ols on July 28. Ols was president and CEO for five years. Esker, who served most recently as vice president of Sarah Bush Lincoln Practice Management, has been with the organization for more than 30 years.
“Jerry has served in many capacities over the years and will continue to provide trusted leadership as interim CEO,” said Steve Wente, chairperson of the Sarah Bush Lincoln Board of Directors. “We are fortunate to have him at the helm.”
“Our administrative and management teams will continue to execute Sarah Bush Lincoln’s strategic plan and move the organization forward,” Wente said.
Sarah Bush Lincoln has 2,250 employees and is a growing healthcare organization. Construction of its new Regional Cancer Center is nearly complete, while construction continues on a new Casey Clinic. Renovation continues inside the hospital on 3 West, 2 East, 2 West and Sterile Processing. The Health Center recently purchased acreage adjacent to its current Walk-In Clinic in Mattoon to build a freestanding building to accommodate the volume of people seeking care there.
“Sarah Bush Lincoln is a strong community-minded organization that serves as an economic engine for the region,” Wente said. “We are proud to provide quality healthcare to residents in a nine-county region.”
