According to a Mattoon Police Department press release, Mary Jo Perry, age 28 of Mattoon, was arrested on Jan. 25th at 1:20 a.m. in the 1100 block of Champaign Ave. She was taken into custody on a Coles County Warrant of Arrest for Contempt of Court. The charge alleges that Perry was jailed on a theft charge and was allowed to leave jail for a period of time, but failed to return as ordered by the court. Perry was taken back to jail.
