Doors open for the HSHS Good Shepherd Foundation’s Red Event (formerly Shelby Memorial Hospital) The Red Event is at 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the Spruce Street Studios in Shelbyville. The event will begin in the upstairs studio with a silent auction, fine wine, and then progress downstairs for dinner and entertainment. Guests are asked to enter the Spruce Street entrance.
Guests will enjoy the clean comedic act of Tim Cavanagh, sponsored by Shelbyville Insurance Services. Cavanagh is a veteran performer who began making people laugh at a comedy club by night while he taught high school by day. With more than 20 years since then as a comedian, he is a regular on “The Bob and Tom Show”. He also performs on cruise ships and stages all over the world.
Other sponsors for the Red Event include Busey Bank, State Farm Insurance, Lithia Springs Marina, Shelbyville Manor and Hawthorne Inn, Emergency Staffing Solutions, and Central Illinois Radiological Associates.
There will be a large silent auction to peruse and to bid upon, including exciting ticket packages such as tickets to a Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals baseball game at Wrigley Field, boxed seat Cardinal tickets at St. Louis, and season tickets for two at Sullivan’s Little Theatre on the Square. There will also be gift ideas, unique items, and many surprises. The cash bar will feature beer and the fine wines of Niemerg’s Family Winery.
Dinner will feature stuffed chicken breasts, red potatoes, green beans, salad and a white chocolate, raspberry-filled cupcake. The wait staff will include employees of the hospital who will compete for tips. The employee with the most tips will earn an extra paid-day-off from work.
Reservations for this year’s event will be $65.00 per person, or you can buy a table for eight for $480.00. Reservations may be made calling the hospital at 217-774-6418. This year’s event will help the hospital build programs and add the necessary equipment for GSH to continue to provide the best possible care for you close to home.
