According to a press release from the MPD, Mattoon police arrested Ronald L. Newkirk, age 47 of Mattoon, on Friday April 21st at 2:06 p.m. at the MPD. Newkirk was charged with Criminal Trespass to a Residence and Criminal Damage to Property. The charges allege that he unlawfully entered a person’s home in the 300 block of S. 21st street and damaged items therein. Newkirk was issued a notice to appear in court.
