According to a press release from the Mattoon Police Department, Tywan M. Stringer, age 30 of Mattoon, was arrested on May 11th at 12:44 a.m. in the 2200 block of Richmond Ave. Stringer was wanted on two (2) Coles County warrants of arrest for failing to appear in court on charges of Domestic Battery, and Driving while License Suspended. Stringer initially fled on foot from police, but was found to be hiding in the attic of his residence. Stringer is being held on a no bond warrant for the domestic battery charge at the Coles County jail.
