Democrat Candidate Biss: Reform Pensions By Combining Them
(Arlington Heights, IL) — One of the Democrats running for Illinois governor wants to reform the state’s pension systems by combining some of them. Candidate Dan Biss yesterday told “The Daily Herald” that Illinois has too many local pension programs, over 600, and that combining some of them may save taxpayers and public workers money. Biss said he’d also be open to pension buyout programs, but didn’t say anything about changing benefits that are growing increasingly expensive.
