According to a press release from Charleston CUSD #1:
An increased law enforcement presence at the Charleston Middle School campus this morning was a preventative measure in response to a report received regarding a suspicious person around campus. Within minutes, the report was determined to be linked to a teacher outside the building and anxiety over recent national news about violence in schools. Again, district officials thank the quick response of law enforcement and school officials in taking every report as legitimate to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff and visitors.
