News Release
Incident Type: Accident (Updated) Date of Incident: November 22nd, 2018 at 10:16pm.
Incident Location: Route 16 at approximately County Road 1950E, Charleston, Illinois
On November 22nd, 2018 at 10:16pm the Coles County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident on State Highway 16 at approximately 1950E. Preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Route 16 near 1950E in Charleston, Illinois when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and rolled multiple times. Both occupants of the vehicle were ejected during the accident. The female was airlifted to Regal Medical Center in Indiana. The male was transported to Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, Illinois where he passed away due to injuries.
The female occupant was identified, Bobbi J. Jeffers, 33, of Casey, Illinois. The male was identified as Dustin D. Sawyer, Age 29, of Casey, Illinois.
The accident is pending further investigation.

Accident Investigation 11.22.2018
On November 22, 2018 at 10:16pm the Coles County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident on State Highway 16 East of the River Bridge.
The vehicle was traveling East bound on Route 16 when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason and rolled multiple times ejecting both occupants from the vehicle.
The female occupant was air lifted to the Regal Medical Center in Indiana and the male was transported to Sarah Bush Lincoln where he passed way due to his injuries.
No name will be released at this time awaiting the notification of their families.
The accident is pending investigation.
