Pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson says a news report that suggests the company knew for decades their baby powder had trace amounts of asbestos in it are completely untrue. Reuters made the claim yesterday, citing information they gathered from documents in a lawsuit filed against the company. That sent Johnson & Johnson stock into a free-fall. Reuters says the asbestos information was found in a lawsuit claiming the product can be linked to ovarian cancer. The company is calling the news report “one-sided, false and inflammatory.”
