Zola “Jeannette” Klepzig, 98, of Stewardson, IL passed away at 10:47 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Heartland Senior Living in Neoga, IL.
Jeannette was born on December 20, 1921, in Stewardson, the daughter of Tracy Emanuel and Goldya Mae (Schuyler) Hoyer. She was a graduate of Stewardson High School in the Class of 1939. Jeannette and Wayne W. Klepzig were united in holy matrimony and from that union they were blessed with nine children: Gloria, Ginny, Trudy, Mary, Merna, Beth, Alice, Twila and Wayne “Pepper”.
Together, Jeannette and Wayne, started the Sigel Grain Elevator. Family was important to Jeannette and she cherished her role as a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson.
Surviving are her children: Ginny Wendt of Sigel, Merna (Jerry) Jones of Stewardson, Beth (Charles) Mead of Plainfield, IN, Alice (Keith) Knight of Effingham and Twila Bible of Louisville; 22 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children: Gloria Buesking, Trudy Fallert, Mary Klepzig and Wayne “Pepper” Klepzig; son-in-law, Donald Wendt; grandson, Jeff Fallert; great-grandsons: Crewe Jones, Zachery Watts, John Ballinger and Toby Hargis; sister, Marguerite Webb and brother, Ralph Hoyer.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson with Pastor David Weaver officiating. Burial will take place in Stewardson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made in Jeannette’s name to the Trinity Lutheran Church or School. Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is assisting the family.
