Consumer Product Safety Commission Recalls 190K Home Depot Fans

(Atlanta, GA) — The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling more than 190-thousand ceiling fans that were sold at The Home Depot this year. Authorities say the blades on the Hampton Bay 54-inch Mara Indoor/Outdoor fans can detach while the fan is on. So far, there have been almost 50 reports of the blade doing so, with numerous reports of injury and property damage. A spokesperson from the home improvement retailer said they stopped selling the fans in October.
