Sexual Assault Counseling & Information Service (SACIS) to Hold Donation Drives for Items to Support Survivors of Sexual Assault
SACIS will be conducting donation drives to collect new clothes, personal hygiene items, toiletry supplies, and other care products for survivors of sexual assault. A list of needed items and sizes is available on our site: https://www.sacis.org/advocacy-resource-drive/.
Donation drives will take place at the 18th Street Farmers Market (825 18th Street) in Charleston on Saturday, August 21st, Saturday, August 28th, Saturday, September 4th, Saturday, September 11th, Saturday, September 18th and Saturday, September 25th from 7:30am until 11:30am. Donations can also be dropped off at SACIS on Thursdays, between 9am and Noon at 825 18th Street.
Survivors of sexual assault frequently need new clothes and other products after completing a medical examination and to begin the healing process. SACIS medical advocates provide support to help survivors begin their healing and recovery process including new, fresh clothes and other items throughout the year.
SACIS, a certified regional rape crisis center, has been providing support for sexual assault survivors for 44 years in Coles, Cumberland and southern Clark counties.
