CMS Agrees to Senator Rose’s Request for EIU-Area Retiree Healthcare Seminar
State Senator Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) is pleased to report that CMS has agreed to his request to add an open enrollment seminar for Eastern Illinois University retirees, retired teachers, and retired state workers in and around Coles County.
The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is offering seminars in various locations. However, the department hadn’t initially scheduled to have one of the events near EIU. Rose asked CMS to add a seminar in Coles County, and they have now agreed.
“The entire process of changing healthcare coverage has led to a massive amount of confusion and fear for retirees,” said Senator Rose. “I’m glad that our retirees won’t have to make a long drive to attend a seminar somewhere else, particularly those who are older or would have difficulty making the trip.”
Rose’s office is currently working with EIU officials to secure a venue for the seminar. More details will be forthcoming, including the date and location. He encourages people with questions and those who want to attend the seminar to contact his office at 217-607-1853.
