Pete Townshend and Ann-Margret have teamed up for a new take on the Everly Brothers' 1957 top two rock classic, “Bye Bye Love.” The track, which also features country legend T.G. Sheppard, is but one of the singer's star-studded team-ups featured on her new album, Born To Be Wild, which drops on April 14th.
Rolling Stone reported Born To Be Wild features guest appearances by Aerosmith's Joe Perry on “Rock Around The Clock,” Stax legend Steve Cropper on “Son Of A Preacher Man,” Paul Shaffer on “The Great Pretender” and a special collaboration between Ann-Margret, crooner Pat Boone, and Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman on “Teach Me Tonight.”
Pete Townshend spoke about the collaboration, admitting, “Being offered an opportunity to work with Ann-Margret, especially on an Everly Brothers song, was just too romantic to pass. Ann-Margret’s work on the Tommy movie back in 1974 (when she was most certainly not old enough to pretend to be Roger Daltrey‘s mother) was a joy from beginning to end. Her sonorous voice, her Scandinavian beauty, her sense of humor, her stamina and her strength all shone through.”
