Paris 95 Board of Education Announces New Principal for Mayo Middle School
Paris, IL – The Paris 95 Board of Education is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Casey Pinnell as the new principal for Mayo Middle School. The Board unanimously voted to employ Mr. Pinnell on April 26, following a highly competitive and selective search process that involved a committee of stakeholders and extensive public input.
Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Larson shared his enthusiasm for the appointment, saying, “We are thrilled to welcome Casey Pinnell back to the Paris community and into the Paris 95 School District. His experience as an educator, coach, and leader in various settings, combined with his genuine passion for our students and the community, make him the ideal candidate to guide Mayo Middle School. We are confident that Casey’s dedication and innovative approach will have a lasting impact on our students and staff.”
Mr. Pinnell, a native of Paris, IL, and an alumnus of Mayo Middle School and Paris High School, is a licensed teacher in science, health, physical education, and social sciences. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University, and is also licensed as a teacher leader and principal. Mr. Pinnell is currently employed at the Robinson School District, where he serves as a teacher and the head football coach.
Board of Education President Kevin Knoepfel highlighted Mr. Pinnell’s military service, stating, “We deeply appreciate Casey’s service to our country as a Veteran of Iraqi Freedom. His experience leading teams in Baghdad demonstrates his exceptional leadership skills and ability to adapt to challenging situations. We believe his military experience will be invaluable in guiding our students and fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and resilience at Mayo Middle School.”
Member Marc Dalbey emphasized the importance of community involvement and building an engaging school culture. “Casey Pinnell’s commitment to our community and his proven ability to connect with students and staff make him the ideal choice for principal at Mayo Middle School. We look forward to seeing him foster an environment where our students are excited to learn and are actively engaged in their education. His personable, proactive, and patient approach will undoubtedly help create a strong sense of community and pride within our school.”
Throughout his career, Mr. Pinnell has gained valuable experience in a variety of educational settings, including internships at Danville High School and Danville Meade Park Elementary School. His infectious personality, commitment to student success, and community-oriented values were highlighted in the numerous recommendations received during the search process.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Pinnell’s commitment to family and community involvement is a testament to his dedication to creating strong relationships and fostering a supportive environment. Mr. Pinnell is married to Sara Pinnell, a devoted second-grade teacher in the Robinson School District. Mrs. Pinnell is also an active member of the community, coaching multiple sports in Robinson and inspiring young athletes with her passion for sportsmanship and teamwork.
Together, Casey and Sara Pinnell have three children: Tenley, 11 years old; Harper, 9 years old; and Easton, 6 years old. Their family values and involvement in the community further illustrate Mr. Pinnell’s commitment to the overall well-being and success of the students and families within the Paris 95 School District.
The Paris 95 Board of Education, along with the entire school community, extends a warm welcome to Mr. Casey Pinnell, his wife Sara, and their children as they join the Mayo Middle School family.
