Illinois State Board of Education Officials Tour Charleston & Mattoon Facilities
Charleston, IL – Regional Superintendent, Dr. Kyle Thompson, of the Regional Office of Education #11 hosted officials from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and coordinated a tour of two local school districts within the region. This aimed to showcase the exceptional educational practices, innovative programs, and notable achievements within our school communities.

The tour included Charleston Community Unit School District #1’s Trojan Agriculture & Manufacturing Center and Mattoon Community Unit School District #2’s regional innovation and technology LIFT Center. It provided ISBE representatives with firsthand insights into the unique strengths of our local educational institutions. Accompanied by education leaders and administrators, the visiting officials had the opportunity to engage directly with students, educators, and community stakeholders, fostering a deeper understanding of the educational landscape within our region.
