This September, ROE #11 is proud to join the nationwide effort to emphasize the critical importance of school attendance. A missed school day is not just an absence but a missed opportunity for learning, growth, and connection. Regular attendance is key to students gaining the academic knowledge and social skills necessary to thrive in school and beyond. Unfortunately, poor attendance can have lasting consequences, affecting a student’s educational and career prospects down the road.
The encouraging news is that chronic absence can be significantly reduced when schools, families, and community partners come together. By monitoring attendance data, fostering a culture of regular attendance, and tackling the barriers that keep students from attending school—such as access to health care, safe and healthy living conditions, reliable transportation, or stable housing—we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
We invite you to join us in spreading the word about the importance of showing up to school. Together, we can make a difference! Follow ROE #11 on social media (Facebook, Instagram, X) for more tips and information throughout School Attendance Awareness Month. Let’s work together to keep our students on the path to success!
