Rep. Miller Applauds the Passage of the SAVE Act to Protect American Elections
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 22, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, an important piece of legislation that ensures only American citizens are eligible to vote in federal elections by requiring voter ID and proof of U.S. citizenship:
“House Republicans took decisive action today to safeguard the integrity of our elections by passing the SAVE Act. This commonsense bill prevents non-citizens, including illegal aliens, from voting in our elections — a measure overwhelmingly supported by the American people,” said Congresswoman Mary Miller. “It is deeply disappointing to see every Democrat from Illinois vote against protecting our elections. Their refusal to support basic voter ID and citizenship verification is shameful. Now, the Senate must act quickly and send this bill to President Trump’s desk.”

Congresswoman Miller currently serves as Chair of the Congressional Family Caucus and sits on the House Committees on Agriculture, Education and Workforce, and House Administration.
