UPDATED: 5.3 Quake Strikes Near Channel Islands Beach
(Ventura, CA) — Authorities are responding after a magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit Ventura County in Southern California. The quake was reported as magnitude 5.0 at 12:29 this afternoon, centered near Channel Islands Beach. It was upgraded minutes later by the U.S. Goelogical Survey. People are saying they felt the shaking in downtown Los Angeles, and West L.A. There have been no early reports of damage or injury associated with the temblor.
