Charleston Fire Department Responds to Fire April 8th

One firefighter sustained minor injuries as the Charleston Fire Department battled a blaze this morning.  Crews were dispatched to 2205 8^th Street at 5:40.  Upon arrival, they found a large amount of fire coming from the roof of the two-story home.  The fire appears to have started on the second floor. The structure sustained heavy fire and water damage throughout. The home was unoccupied and under renovation at the time of the fire. Crews were on scene until around 9:30 a.m. The fire is still under investigation.
