Pocket Park Groundbreaking Ceremony in Mattoon

A groundbreaking ceremony was held today in downtown Mattoon. The lot left vacant by the 2019 Shore’s Jewelry fire is becoming a pocket park. Mattoon in Motion received a $50,000 grant from T-Mobile to help launch the project. The pocket park is another step in keeping downtown Mattoon strong and vibrant. The versatility of the space will make it a fantastic resource for surrounding businesses and residents. The completion date is anticipated to be fall of 2023.
