Mattoon Public Library Semi-Annual Book Sale

MATTOON – The semi-annual book sale at the Mattoon Public Library is from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

The format is take whatever books you want, pay whatever you want.

A wide variety of books are available, most from donations from patrons in the past year. “The titles vary in each of our sales based on donations we receive,” said Library Director Carl Walworth. “The purpose of the sale is to find new homes for books while also generating funds for the library to continue to upgrade its collection.”

The sale is in the lower basement Community Room. Patrons should use the north door by the alley to most easily access the sale.
